Sean P. Sullivan's Northwest Wine Report - Viognier comprises 6% of this wine. The aromas are perfumed, with notes of pomegranate, red fruit, dried violet, dried orange peel, sweet herb, Red Vines, and strawberry. Ripe, full-bodied, high octane flavors follow. Coffee notes linger on the finish, which shows some warmth.

Quiddity has been one of the wineries championing Elephant Mountain Vineyard, and wines like this show why. Both the AUDENTES (Syrah) and this, the AUDENTES Barrel Select (Syrah) are blended with 8% Viognier, the aromas offer notes of red and black raspberry, strawberry, whole tangerine, flower, and clove. The palate is textured and achingly pure, full-feeling but far from over the top, showing polish and detail. An extended, fruit-filled finish caps it off. It’s gorgeous, showing a skilled winemaker at the height of his powers.

Sean P. Sullivan's Northwest Wine Report - Carménère remains a relatively rare varietal wine in the Pacific Northwest. This is an excellent example. The aromas lead with notes of sliced jalapeño and green pepper, black cherry, and flower – classic notes for this variety. Supple, textured, supremely pure blue and darker fruit flavors follow. It stretches out on the finish. Fans of Carménère, seek this wine out. It’s beautiful.

Varietal offerings of Carménère are relatively rare in the Columbia Valley, with this producer always offering a compelling example. The aromas bring notes of black pepper, whole green pepper, jalapeño pepper, wet stone, and cherry. Pleasingly pure fruit flavors follow, showing precision and grace. Floral notes provide accents. The finish hangs.
