OUR WINES

This wine is two-thirds Grenache and one third Syrah. The former announces itself on the aromas, with focused notes of strawberry hard candy, red cherry, and herb, with Syrah providing blue fruit accents. Plump-feeling, achingly pure red and blue fruit flavors follow. A warm finish caps it off. Dee-licious. It’s a compelling example of the joys Quiddity has to offer: small production wines that provide purity, grace, and exceptional value.

2019 MELIORA is a medium bodied Rhone style red blend, perfect for summer days, lighter foods, or on its own.  It has a clean nose with aromas of red fruits, black tea, minerals and wet gravel.  It has flavors of red fruits, herbs, mineral, tobacco, slate, and white pepper.  MELIORA tastes like a late afternoon in an exotic land, rejuvenating at a small café after a day of exploring hidden alleys, air heavy with the smell of summer, cooled by an occasional breeze.

Our biggest wine.  This is a big, dry red wine that is also well mannered.  A full round mouthfeel with medium tannins and aromas and flavors of red berries, red cherries, tobacco, and green peppercorns.

Our 2020 vintage is another Syrah which sings the praises of its fruit.  The palate is rich, textured, layered, and ripe.  Juicy black fruit, boysenberry, and black cherry.  Hints of eucalyptus, rosemary and herbs.  No overt oak influence and plenty of lingering flavors on the finish.

Sean P. Sullivan's Northwest Wine Report - Co-fermented with 6% Viognier, the aromas are perfumed, with notes of fresh flower, red fruit, and blueberry. A full-boded, achingly pure palate follows. Fresh fruit flavors carry on the finish. It’s all about purity of expression along with the richness of the vintage.

Blended with 8% Viognier, the aromas offer notes of red and black raspberry, strawberry, whole tangerine, flower, and clove. The palate is textured and achingly pure, full-feeling but far from over the top, showing polish and detail. An extended, fruit-filled finish caps it off. It’s gorgeous, showing a skilled winemaker at the height of his powers.

For the 2020 vintage, I pulled the two best barrels of Syrah and bottled them separately as a "reservy" Syrah, aka Block 14.  For something else new, I did not filter the wine prior to bottling.  The end result is a beautiful example of Washington Syrah.  I hope you agree.  AUDENTES - Block 14 is a big, dry red wine that is nicely textured with fine tannings.  Aromas and palate of boysenberry, allspice, smoked meat, and licorice.

Sean P. Sullivan's Northwest Wine Report - Viognier comprises 6% of this wine. The aromas are perfumed, with notes of pomegranate, red fruit, dried violet, dried orange peel, sweet herb, Red Vines, and strawberry. Ripe, full-bodied, high octane flavors follow. Coffee notes linger on the finish, which shows some warmth.

The logic behind making a port style wine is the same logic as behind the other wines, I like port so I thought I would give it a try.  The result is a ruby port style wine that is deep, rich, and luscious.  It has a nose of star anise, plum, fruit cake, and gingerbread and flavors of cherry, dates, fruit cake, plum, star anise, caramel, and toffee.  It is a great finish to a meal with some stinky cheese, chocolate, or great on its own.

RAZZLE is a port style wine (fortified) made with half 2021 Touriga Nacional and half 2022 Tinta Cao, both traditional port wine grapes.  Since the grapes are from two different vintages, this is a non vintage wine.  I gotta be honest, I really like this wine.  My general feeling is that if you don’t like it…well, I just don’t know.  Something must be up.
